Theme: Empowering Minds, Expanding Potential
Rooted Life Foundation Uganda joined Impactful Minds Uganda in an impactful youth engagement activity aimed at equipping young people with knowledge, awareness, and practical skills to support healthier lives and a more sustainable future.
The engagement focused on three important areas: sickle cell awareness, climate change, and responsible internet and social media use. Through interactive discussions, educational sessions, and real-life stories, young people were encouraged to understand the challenges affecting their communities and the role they can play in creating positive change.
As part of the health awareness component, participants received free sickle cell screening conducted by medical professionals. The activity also highlighted the importance of understanding the relationship between climate change and the well-being of people living with sickle cell disease, while encouraging informed health decisions and greater community awareness.
The youth further explored the opportunities and risks associated with internet and social media use, learning about their benefits for education, communication, and personal development, as well as the importance of using digital platforms responsibly and safely.
In support of environmental conservation, participants were provided with tree seedlings to plant, encouraging them to take practical action in protecting the environment and contributing to a greener future.
Through this collaboration, Rooted Life Foundation Uganda and Impactful Minds Uganda continue to promote youth empowerment through health education, environmental responsibility, digital/Internet awareness, and shared experiences.
Together, we are building informed, responsible, and empowered young people who can make a meaningful difference in their communities.
